Witold Jarno (born in 1970) – PhD with ‘habilitation’, University Professor, Department of Polish and World History after 1945 of the Institute of History of the University of Lodz. Graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy and History (1994), as well as Law and Administration (1998) of the University of Lodz. The main areas of his scientific interest cover the history of Poland and the history of the Polish military in the 20th century. He wrote numerous articles on this subject, as well as monographs: Okręg Korpusu Wojska Polskiego nr IV Łódź 1918–1939 (Łódź 2001); Okręg Generalny Wojska Polskiego nr III Kielce w latach 1918–1921 (Łódź 2003); Strzelcy Kaniowscy w latach 1919–1939 (Warszawa 2004); 1 Dywizja Strzelców Armii Generała Hallera w latach 1918–1919 (Łódź 2006); Garnizon Łódzki Wojska Polskiego 1918–1939 (Toruń 2008, co-authored); Terytorialne władze wojskowe w Polsce w latach 1945–1949. Organizacja i działalność okręgów wojskowych (Łódź 2011), and 13 Dywizja Piechoty w wojnie 1939 roku (Warszawa 2012).
